Wooden Deck for Commercial Buildings

I am sure that you have noticed the increasing trend towards Roof top terraces and ‘outdoor’ area’s at commercial Buildings. Often, rooftop spaces are wasted or under-utilized. Particularly in urban settings where un-built-upon land is scarce, and for buildings where flat roofs are being utilized, rooftops create a perfect opportunity for outdoor space.

ENiTo is pleased to announce that it support the upcoming construction of Garden Office, Biome and ancillary facilities, at gardens by the bay (Marina South), Singapore with the ENiTo Palm Wood decking.

Samuel Residence - Singapore

ENiTo Palm wood flooring was the choice for Mr. E. Samuel when re-building his home.

Average CO2 per capital in Singapore is about 13 metric tons. Due to constant business travel, our CO2 was continuously sky rocketing close to 50% more than national average. This is when as a household, my wife and I decide to investigate sustainable living as we started designing our home. Finding a balance between aesthetic, comfort living and at the same time being green is a challenge in most household. Now there are a total of 16 different green enable features in our home. Flooring is key to any home. We meticulously researched on best flooring for our green home. We came across coconut flooring supplied by ENiTo. We now have it laid on our bedrooms and corridors on second floor. We love its feel on my feet and the subtle yet unique natural grain patterns. Thus, we decided to finish it in natural stain to enable us to appreciate the natural beauty of palm flooring. As we needed something durable for external use, we decided to use the same wood, fortunately available for external use as our pool decking and other exteriors. What’s great is being able to find a balance between nature at your foot steps and the conscious comfort of living green.

ENiTo Support the ZERO ENERGY BUILDING - Singapore

ENiTo is pleased to sponsor the ZEB, Zero Energy Building, with its 100% recycled Palm wood decking

Zero Energy Building.pdf

Singapore plans to unveil its firs zero-energy building (ZEB) on Braddell Road in October 2009. Unlike most other buildings across the globe, this is not a green building that just reduces energy consumption but actually uses no energy for its functioning! The building produces as much energy as it consumes & hence that amounts to pretty much zero consumption. The building develops all that energy from renewable sources of energy.

The building is to be fitted with solar panels on top. These panels provide the energy for most of the building. But any building cannot be completely self reliant without reducing the consumption of energy in a smart way. This building uses some very smart local inventions to reduce the consumption of energy. Fresh energy is only channeled into rooms which have people in them as sensors are used to detect motion. Even the cooling & heating systems of the building are sufficiently revamped to save 60% of energy consumption.

The building is truly a first in the world as it is the first time that an already existing building is going to be revamped into a Zero-Energy Building (ZEB). It paves way for many more constructors to take it up. While the cost in making such a building is 8% more than in the case of normal structures, that can be retrieved in 12 years. This is indeed a small price to pay, if any, for energy saving & achieving a safer planet.
